Complience.app and Termly
Termly sells the consent banner and the policy text. Complience.app sells neither. Use Termly to collect the choice. Use the scan to see whether marketing cookies still ran on the first load.
What is left to check after a Termly banner is installed?
The banner can be present and the tags can still be early. Complience.app opens the public URL once, sends no Accept click, and records cookies and third-party requests in that window. It does not configure Termly, and it does not pretend the worker’s network is a specific country.
That limit matters. A headless load is not a geo matrix of EU versus US visitors. It is one clean first load. If a marketing cookie is already there, the banner did not stop that request on that load.
What Termly does that this scan does not
Termly shows the dialog, categorizes cookies inside its own product, and stores consent. Complience.app does not replace that admin, does not write the policy, and does not block Google tags for you.
If Reject still leaves analytics cookies, you will see them only if they fire before the click. Fix that in Termly or in the tag manager. The scan will not flip the setting.
What to look for in the report
Read the cookie category before you read the accessibility score. Known ads and analytics hosts are the obvious rows. Unlabeled leftovers stay unknown unless the classifier is confident they are marketing. Uncertain is not “critical.”
Pair the table with whoever owns the tag manager. The banner vendor and the container often point at each other. The host list is the part you can date.
Who should use both
Site owners who installed Termly and want an outside log before they tell a client the banner “works.” Agencies who already white-label a WCAG PDF and need the cookie table in the same pack.
The UK ICO’s cookies guidance is the sentence to keep next to the table: non-essential cookies wait for a clear positive action. A Termly banner is how you ask. The scan is how you see whether the page waited.
